Valley of Flowers National ParkAfter trek for about 4 to 5 km upwards, you will reach to the valley. Valley of flowers National Park comes under Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, is known for its meadows of alpine flowers. Valley of flowers is a world Heritage Site and declared a national Park in 1982. The Valley of flowers is being carefully regulated by the Uttarakhand State Forestry Department. Grazing and any sort of settlement are prohibited in the Valley of flowers to preserve the valley in pristine conditions. Valley of flowers is a paradise for flower lovers, botanists and trekkers.

Best time to visit valley of flowers

is July and August. Flowers are on full bloom in these two months. Valley is blessed with endangered species of flowers such as Brahmakamal, Blue Poppy, Cobra Lily and Geranium Wallichianum etc. Apart from variety of vegetation found here, valley is known for some rare wild animals as well.

Valley is nearly 10 km long and almost 02 km wide. The valley is ringed with snow-capped mountains and watered by streams rising in the mountains, its accessible from late April, but is grandest from late July to the end of August. Literally hundreds of wild flowers bloom in Tread with caution because your visit should not endanger the things you have come to see. Also carry a little salt. The valley is infested with leeches in the wettest weather when the flowers are there best.
